In the days after Senator McCain chose his running mate, I learned a new hockey term: "Yard sale." A yard sale is a particularly brutal body check that causes the victim's gear to fly all over the ice. Several times during Governor Palin's speech at the RNC, my son and I called out "Yard sale" after she stuck it to the community organizer with an especially satisfying line.

The past 24 hours or so have been Yard Sale Day for the Democratic Party, and the beauty of it is that this time out, they've done it to themselves. All these events occurred today or were covered in today's news cycle:

1. Obama delivers the lipstick and stinky fish lines, which were either scripted or mark him as truly clueless.

2. A few moments later, Obama goes into arguably worse territory, wondering out loud how the governor could ever have the energy to handle five kids, since his two kids wear him out. Gee, that's not sexist at all...Hopefully this dipstick's handlers will point out to him that a.) he declared kids to be off-limits and b.) she doesn't have to take care of Track any more, because he's been in the Army for a year and leaves for Iraq tomorrow.

3. Joe Biden asks a guy in a wheelchair to stand up. Actually, this was a minor error and Biden handled his mistake in a very classy way, but let's all take a moment and think how this gaffe would be handled by the media if John McCain or George W. Bush had done it. It would be seen as a very revealing sign of their inner character and lead newscasts for days.

4. Biden let it be known that Hillary might have been a better pick than him.

5. Biden also has what Jonah Goldberg at National Review describes as a mini-Tuzla, and adds that he knows where Bin Laden is. Note to Biden: Joe, forward that info to the CIA or Central Command instead of offering it to audiences of Obama groupies. We'd like to get this guy.

6. The Chairwoman of the South Carolina Democratic Party describes Palin as someone "whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion."

7. A Tenessee Congresscritter proceeds to the well of the house and portrays Obama as Jesus and Palin as one of the most notorious men in world history.

8. Governor Paterson in New York lets us know that anyone who is skeptical of the value of being a community organizers is really making racist remarks about blacks.

9. Bill Ayers pops up as a cartoon to say violence isn't necessarily the way to handle political disagreements. Way to deliver moral clarity, Bill.

10. Obama goes on Letterman and keeps digging the hole, offering this remark: "Keep in mind that, technically had I meant it this way –- she would be the lipstick!"

A few more days like this and Obama will be lucky to win Illinois!

By the way, I came across most of these items at The Corner, which has been just awesome the last several weeks.

UPDATE: I forgot one! There's also Biden using Trig Palin in a cheap shot that reveals his profound ignorance of science.
